Four kinds of displayed information

The interface distinguishes information by how Flintglade obtains and transforms it:

  1. Provider-rendered views. An authorized widget displays its own values, branding, and delay labels. Flintglade does not read or silently repackage the widget's feed.
  2. Provider observations. A documented API returns values that Flintglade stores as a limited operational snapshot and presents with attribution and retrieval context.
  3. Official public data. Government and public-institution datasets are displayed with the series, reporting period, release state, and source-specific notices.
  4. Flintglade calculations. Simple changes, ratios, spreads, classifications, or aggregates computed from source observations are labeled as derived rather than attributed to the source.

Source registry and rights boundary

Each production source is reviewed as an executable registry entry: provider, category, endpoint type, rights status, display boundary, permitted transformations, redistribution restriction, retention, attribution, refresh cadence, allowed output fields, review date, and kill switch. A source is not considered integrated merely because an endpoint can be reached.

Commercial provider data remains subject to the provider plan and terms. Public records can also contain third-party material with separate rights. Flintglade avoids offering a raw-feed replacement or customer API for provider observations unless the governing rights explicitly permit it.

Observation time is not event time

Market and economic information carries multiple clocks. The period a statistic describes, the time its publisher released it, the time Flintglade retrieved it, and the time a user opens the page are not interchangeable. The interface exposes the relevant clock and uses a stale or unavailable state when the expected freshness window has passed.

Equity widgets can be delayed or provider-controlled. Government series can be monthly, quarterly, preliminary, seasonally adjusted, or later revised. Crypto observations can vary among venues and aggregators. A current display cannot be assumed to be executable at the shown value.

Derived values and charts

Every derived value should be reproducible from the shown inputs and a documented transformation. Flintglade uses descriptive calculations—for example, period changes or simple yield-curve spreads—not hidden forecasts or trading signals. Chart axes, intervals, missing values, and units must remain legible. Interpolation is not used to conceal missing observations.

Comparison requires compatible instruments, periods, units, adjustment conventions, and observation times. When those conditions do not hold, the interface should separate the series or describe the comparison as contextual rather than ranking them as equivalent.

Agency briefing wire

The public-interest news view uses primary-source agency feeds and retains only limited feed metadata such as source, headline, published time, topic label, and canonical link. It does not republish full articles, images, or marked third-party material. Topic labels and event clusters are organizational aids, not legal findings or independent verification of an agency statement.

Outages, revisions, and corrections

  • Keep a last-good operational snapshot only where the source policy permits it.
  • Show degraded, stale, partial, unavailable, or disabled source states rather than replacing missing data with zero.
  • Do not consume retry attempts or produce duplicate alerts because a feed temporarily fails.
  • Apply official revisions as new source observations and preserve the reporting period they replace.
  • Correct Flintglade transformations or labels separately from provider revisions.
Financial-information boundary

Flintglade Markets does not know a user's financial circumstances and does not provide personalized recommendations, investment advice, brokerage, order execution, custody, asset management, or a guarantee of price accuracy or availability.
